What is an AI trading coach?

An AI trading coach is software that reviews your own recorded journal data and returns summaries, questions or possible patterns for you to check. It can help organise the records. It cannot see missing context, prove why something happened, predict the next market move or decide what you should trade.

What information can it review?

The answer depends on what you recorded in your trading journal: date, instrument, session, setup, written plan, actual action, result, costs, emotion tag, rule-followed answer, note and screenshot. If a trade or detail is missing, the AI cannot safely recover it from the journal.

A simple XAUUSD example

Imagine you have the same fictional 20-trade XAUUSD sample used in the trading performance report.

You ask: “Show the records marked plan not followed and group them by session.”

The output says: “5 records were marked plan not followed. 3 occurred outside the planned session.”

This is a useful pointer. Your next step is to open those five records, verify the labels and read the notes. The output does not prove that the session caused the decisions or results.

What can an AI trading coach help with?

  • Organise the journal records you entered.
  • Group records by stable labels such as XAUUSD, London or breakout.
  • Summarise approved metrics from a clearly defined sample.
  • Flag a possible repeated pattern for you to inspect.
  • Suggest factual questions for a manual trade review.

What can it not know from the journal alone?

  • A trade you never recorded.
  • Whether you entered a label or result correctly.
  • Context you did not write down or show in a screenshot.
  • Whether an association caused the result.
  • What the market will do next.
  • Which trade you should take.

An emotion tag is also a trader-entered record. It is not a diagnosis, and the AI should not infer a feeling that you did not record.

Use the Ask, Check, Verify, Decide loop

  1. Ask: use one narrow question about a named account and date range.
  2. Check: open the records behind the answer.
  3. Verify: confirm the labels, counts, results and missing context.
  4. Decide: choose whether the observation is useful. The AI does not make the trading decision for you.

A safe request is: “Compare my recorded London and New York session trades for this date range.” An unsafe expectation is: “Tell me which session will make money tomorrow.”

Is it a replacement for a human coach?

No. The word coach describes the review role. It does not make the tool a licensed adviser, psychologist, broker record or human-coach replacement. Read the AI trading coach guide for the full capability and limitation checklist.

What should you do next?

Ask one narrow question about a defined group of journal records. Then open the trades behind the answer before changing any written plan.
